    Line Sizing

    I am in the process of having a new system installed and the the return line should have been 5/8 and not the 3/4 that was installed. They just reduced the line size at the compressor to 5/8 is that OK? I think the size from the AH was 3/4 which is where the problem started.

    do a search on "refrigeration piping chart" or call the manufacturer and give them the model numbers and the distance between inside and outside unit, they should be able to help.

    also take into consideration the equivalent lengths for hard turns like 90 degree elbows
