    What happens if multiple technicians are working on different systems within wireless range?

    How can sensors that are not part of your system be disabled/ignored?
    It's an upside down world we live in.

    Sporlan SMART Pro/R sensors utilize a broadcast signal mode. Once the sensors are configured, any compatible device within range will be able to communicate with the sensors via the SMART Pro/R Service App. This allows multiple technicians to view the system simultaneously. To allow for custom configurations, each sensor can be configured #1 thru #20. Temperature sensors can be configured as T1 thru T20. Low pressure sensors can be LP1 thru LP20. High pressure sensors HP1 thru HP20.

    One suggestion for a multi-system job site would be for each tech to configure their sensors 1-7, another 8-14, and a third tech 15-20.
    All sensors can still be read by any technician, but you'll know which ones are yours. The app then allows you to establish "Calculations" based off of specific sensors and subsequently RENAME each calculation with a simple left swipe.

    If a user does not want to see specific sensors that are within range, simply go to "Settings", then select "Setup", then tap on the sensor you want to remove. Tap again and a menu will popup allowing you to "Stop Using as T#". Choosing this will simply hide that specific sensor from your "Sense" list. It can be added back into your list later by following the same "Settings" path, but choosing "Use as T#" in the popup menu.

    Additionally, to protect sensors from being renamed during a technician's data recording, all sensors utilized for the recording become unavailable to all other users.

    The straps work great to hold the footing of the sensor to the pipe. You can use any type of strap method you want. We included standard quick release zip ties with the temperature sensors as an easy dependable option.

    I have been testing thease for 2 weeks now and they work amazing just as good as the iconect but more geared towards refrigation. There is a lot that can be done with this system.

    Couple of questions on the Pro/R version of the Smart tool

    Anybody have a link to the app they show in the sales stuff for Android or is it the old app?

    Do the new pressure sensors read below 0 psig?

    What does the temperature sensor pad look like where it makes pipe contact (pics)?

    There currently isn't an android app for the SMART Pro/R. We will have the android version developed and released in the Jan/Feb time frame.

    The SMART Pro/R pressure sensors are not intended to provide vacuum readings. The low pressure sensor range is 0-300 psig and the high pressure range is 0-700 psig. Bringing either of the sensors into a vacuum will not harm them, but they will not provide a reading.

    What's the update on the Android app.?Also are there ever going to be PDF reports where we can enter start up data or unit data along with graphs and superheat pressures and temp . Also is there ever going to be a way to assign temp sensors for discarge line temp and be able to calculate discarge superheat

    The Android version of our SMART Pro/R app is expected in early February. PDF reports are currently available on the SMART Pro/R mobile app for iOS. (Android to follow)

    As a technician begins a new "Job", a .pdf report is automatically being built. Startup notes may be entered before the record button is touched or during the recording of a "Job".
    The .pdf will automatically include the users selections of refrigerant type and altitude. Temperature and pressure sensor readings as well as calculated parameters such as Superheat, Subcooling, Temperature Delta, and Pressure Delta can be added to the pdf report at any time during the recording of a "Job".


    This is done during a "Job" simply by going to the "Sense" screen or "Calculate" screen and touching the sensor or calculation you want added as a graphic snapshot into the .pdf. Graphs of live data or previously recorded data can not be added to the .pdf at this time. Users can choose to take a screen shot of the graphs and provide to the customer if required.


    As in the original SMART Service Tool app, the user can also export the complete set of data in ".csv" format and graph the data using common spreadsheet software.


    Our existing SMART Pro/R temp sensors have an upper limit of 230 deg F. Even though the materials that contact the surface will withstand higher temperatures, the limitation exists due to the batteries and wireless circuit components. As compressor discharge temps may exceed the 230 deg F threshold, we do not currently offer a Discharge Superheat calculation in the SMART Pro/R mobile app.

    It would still be nice to be able to list discharge line temp in the ccv file for troubleshooting even if they are only good to 230 . Also Oa temp would also be nice to list on the ccv as well for reports . The only real complaint iam hearing about thease is the pricing it seams to be all over the board from supply house to supply house .

    The set with the antennas is longer range. Geared more towards refrigeration work. Has lower temp ratings etc. I believe also you can link up to 20 devices together while running the app. But you buy them all separately. Their are spec sheets for each kind on their site.

    The SMART Pro/R tools have 10x the range of the original SMART tools. Also the SMART Pro/R tools are designed for use in refrigeration applications as well like MetalMan 0880 had stated. The sensors can be applied to any diameter pipe and not limited by clamps like the originals.
