At first glance the background looked like Arizona but the Asphalt shingles threw me off.

A lot of it is out here is that we have a LOT of illegals living out here, That will put a new unit on a homeowners house for 3 or 4 k less then a licensed / certified installer.

This is west of Tucson, half way to Ajo.
This was installed by fully legal, fully licensed contractors.
Homes built up until the mid 1980's would still commonly use asphalt shingles.
The photos I've been posting here for years are from a total (now) of 59 different contractors.

The problem is not just "1 or 2 guys with low quality" it's... a LOT of them.
This is what happens when I take photos of things OTHER than bad A/C installations:

One sheet of 3/4 plywood cut in half and trimmed out, maybe a couple of 2x4's or 2x6's then a sheetmetal cap... maybe fifty bucks ... Find the guys who did that job, bring them back up there then push them off the roof ...

this is why all states should have mandatory licensing, stricter codes, and inspectors that actually do there job! cause its **** like this that makes all the rest of us look bad.
