Here is another Marine boot camp story 1968 plt. 2050

When the drill instructors decided it was time for us to make a head call they would say … port side make a head call … the whole platoon would answer at the top of their voices … port side make a head call aye aye sir … then the drill instructor would say go or something like that. So the port side of the squad bay would enter the head and do their business. Usually this would be from five to fifteen minutes. Then the DI would call out … port side clear the head … the starboard side would answer at the top of their voices … port side clear the head aye aye sir. At this point the port side would get out of the head as fast as possible, the first two out would hold the doors open. When it was thought that the head was clear the two guys holding the doors open would run back in and make sure the head was clear, they would come out and announce ... Sir the head is clear. Then the platoon would say starboard side make a head call and on command enter the head.

Well one day it did not work that way, when the two guys from the port side came back out they shouted ... Sir the head is not clear … Oh man the DI almost had a calf … he turns to the starboard side and yells … starboard side clear the head … well they run in there and drag this poor guy out with his trousers and skivvies around his ankles and present him to the DI … WTF are you doing screams the DI … the poor guy says Sir the private has the runs … I think the DI was not sure what to do so he had him do a couple hundred USMC eight count side straddle hops … with his trousers and skivvies around his ankles … man was that ever funny. Most of the things that were funny about boot camp were thinking back after it was over, this was one of those things that was funny right then.
