...how to post an image (not a picture) into the message portion of a post???
You can't cut and paste it in and you can't upload it onto the website for photos because it is the wrong type of file???

If the image is already on a website anywhere, it is very simple, just put the address of the pic in between [ img ] and [ /img ] (without the spaces)
Practice that part here first.
Then, if you need to upload the pic, we have an account that allows you to do that, instructions are here, at the end of the rules, http://hvac-talk.com/vbb/showthread.php?threadid=1241
