at least they used hard duct not flex
I can just imagine what was smoked before this one was put in...
Note the lovely 7" bypass pipe that's bypassing UNFILTERED air into the blower on the opposite side of the EAC. This furnace is a 5 ton drive, it requires a bottom return or two side returns. This is clearly not correct. To top it off, the ducts are full of drywall dust and it's being drawn directly into the motor vents.
The trunk (not pictured) is not hung straight, and the panning is all cardboard Thermopan that's sagging and brittle from being wet at some point.
Think twice before you buy a new home from a "cookie cutter" builder.

And where is the moron inspector?
Wouldn't suprise me if that is a 4" screw going into the HE..
People are stupid.
If at first you don't succeed; charge, charge, charge again.
do you really think the inspector got out of the truck and in the front door.
what is with the carpet and tile right there. is that thing in the middle of a room? I see a toy car in the backround
Interesting, and no PVC primer.
If you really know how it works, you have an execellent chance of fixin' er up!
Tomorrow is promised to no one...

haha
thats one of those A/C Turbochargers that those guys are talking about in their full page adds that claim to "turbo charge your a/c for $29.95"
Go Away
I'm Busy!
He was following the install instructions.
With that 7" he has return to 2 sides. ROFL
The installer must be married to inspectors mom...........
Just a thought maybe the installer never got a permit to begin with.....
you know inspectors are pretty good around here. They do cut us some slack because we do really good work so they don't always come take a good look. New construction usally get a walkthough but changeouts are a diff story. Noboby files a perment for a change out unless the HO ask for it, and in my opion this is were they need it the most. I am not saying I have not made things work in the past but some of the hack I have seen in the past MAN. If the they lowered the permit cost and required one to get a unit you would see a lot less CAN'T SEE IT FROM MY HOUSE.
at least it's nicely straped lol
What is the inspectors job
A) to make sure the HVAC guy does not kill the HO
B) to inform the HO of a good job or bad
If the inspector sees use do something wrong he just calls the boss and the door gets closed behind the mech for a good long talking to
why is it sitting on carpet?
