i said"you will die, ihave to disconnect the unit"![im very blunt when tired]I thought he was gonna punch me when i told him how much a new one costs!Long story short i meet the crew down there to cut it out to show him!He was very understanding when he saw that! Then he admitted "you know, weve been having head aches off&on since last winter"!

sad part,we were the 2nd co out this winter!they made sure there sticker was all over the unit!YIKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just gave a quote on a change out for a lennox RTU that looks like that! It is shut down right now, but the space has two RTU so it is not freezing, just not very warm.

Is that out of a GCS16H?

What was the initial complaint and symptoms?

I have never seen anything like that - do those heat exchangers run under positive pressure?
General public's attitude towards our energy predicament: "I reject the reality of finite resource depletion and substitute it with my own; energy is infinite, we just need an alternative storage medium to run the cars on. The economy can grow indefinitely - we just need to "green" everything! Technology is energy! Peak what?"

It looks like a HX from a Lennox packaged unit. If so the HX does not run under positive pressure.

It is an old lennox helical heat exchanger, I see quite a few of those in my area. most(if not all) are in that condition.
