Hey, I didn't pass the NATE exam either. But I have pride in my work and know what I'm doing. Otherwise I do not think I would have lasted 23 years in this trade. Don't knock us techs who aren't booksmart.

I am not knocking people who didnt pass NATE, I am knocking people who should find a new profession. I take great pride in my work, and strive very hard to be the best at my profession as I can. I respect anyone who has the same mindset and work ethic.

Stop worrying about this person. Concentrate on yourself. No one likes a complainer. Apparently the boss is happy since this guy is making him money. Your other option is to find a new job.

Start fixing everything you see that he does wrong! This guy is job security for you. That appears to be the only way you can look at it. Economy is bad, jobs are getting scarce. Or, start your own business and compete against him.

go elsewhere. if the company is ok with that kind of work then they will have a very bad rap with customers and other contractors. if he ends up going under because of it your gonna have that guy on your resume and people are gonna put that quality together with your name seeing that you worked there. find a well established company with morals.

Does he call himself star man because hes high all the time?

Yes, when people see his work.... they believe that they are seeing your work and the work of everyone in the company.....

I would either try and convince him or your boss of that....or seek employment elsewhere.
