give it a shot.
what do you have to lose?
maybe Robo can go with you.
my time and money, cost just to fill out app.,.......tried sheetmetal a few years ago and ended up going to a non-union place closer to home here and done quite a bit of work with pre-fab stuff, some electrical too,it was a good learning experience....but that came to an end, with the residential market for hvac flooded with guys in this small market area....it ain't looking good for my biz.
applied today,we'll see how it goes.....they want algebra,i've helped/done my fair share of electrical work over years and never needed it,but it is on the test so we'll see how it goes.I have thought about pipefitters union too before, but haven't really tried them yet......i know a few guys that work thru them and one guy even gave me the name of b.a.,.....may try them if need be...
UA or IBEW, you can't go wrong. Stick with it!
I STARTED WITH NOTHING, AND I STILL HAVE MOST OF IT!
Electricians make more money
I was an IBEW member for 9 years. It was a great experience.Better to try and fail then to not try at all.
around here all the trades are fairly equal.....close to $40/hr. some maybe a buck or so either way.
Dang... here electricians make about $35/hr. Sheet metal jmen make a little over $30/hr
