I would be willing to bet who ever did that said well theres no leaks.And im sure he checked for leaks with a match.

WTH???!! What a mess!!
To me it seems that in cases like this, it wouldve taken a lot less work and time just do the damn job right! Some people just have no pride in thier work anymore.A lack of planning on your part does not constitute a state of emergency on my part.

the extention cord is powering the furnace ?
or something else ?
it looks like they want to keep the gas pipe warm, by wrapping it with a extention cord
