I wish I had a picture of one I came across years ago.
This was on an Ice merchandiser out door freezer. 1/3 HP CU running R 12. Must have had a leak in the second or third pass from the bottom of the coil, discharge from compressor. They took some 1/4 soft copper and coiled it in front of the condenser fins and held it in place with wire, then back into the fourth elbow from the bottom. Worked fine for at least 10 years like that before the compressor gave out.I r the king of the world!...or at least I get to stand on the roof and look down on the rest of yall

In the middle of the night, or in a tight spot....you do what you got to do. Haven't any of you been under the gun before? I'm sure this was only a tempoary fix that was forgotten about...LOL I have a few temporary fixes out there that are still probably running years after I forgot.
Sound installation practices is the key to success. Equipment is only as good as the person installing it.
If I can't fix it, it ain't broke.

Hey, middle of the night call, you do what you can. It's functional, but looks pornographic.
