They need to move the inside coil plant to China, so they wouldn't have to ship their copper so far.
I'm sorry. This is the season to be sweet.

Yes, it is the Pueblo plant. I have heard there is a "Memo" posted in the plant by the "Head Bean Counter" attempting to quell the fear of the rank and file by saying not to worry; only the manufacturing portion is being sent to Monterrey.
What really confuses me is, we/I have been told all these years that I/we do not have the knowledge to rebuild these screws in the field.
"The tolerances are to close", etc, etc.
Well,,, now they go and ship it all to a 3rd world country???
I have to assume it is to remain "Competitive".
What that really means is, cheap labor so the CEO's and the shareholders still get their large $$$$$.
If they had moved it to a Country that had a High Tech base and a track record of solid products produced it might be a little easier to swallow.
But it is very obvious the only reason is labor costs and stockholder dividends.
I hope you guys that agreed to move to Monterrey and set up the plant realize you are the scum of the Earth, and would sell your Grandmother to the highest bidder for a one night stand with a gang of thugs.
Stock up on rigging gear, I see a lot of compressor changeouts in our future!!

i kinda thought the same thing...although i could understand how people can think that.
but i also have been on both sides of the counter. i have had contractors walk out the door because i was 10 cents high on an entire jug of R22 that they probably sold for 14 times what they bought it for.
how many times have contractors b!tched about the high cost of a tool, piece of equipment, etc. and then b!tch because they can not get any quality? b!tch because they use non-union workers? b!tch because they move manufacturing to another country? well, sometimes, these are the things that need to be done in order to get the cost down.
now, don't get me wrong...i don't want the above to happen at all. but if one company makes a chiller out of solid gold, a competitor will make it out of silver and be able to under cut the first. then the first makes his out of bronze to under cut the second. now where do we stop?
i would like to see some of the manufacturers take some money out of the warranty pool and put it in the "quality" pool and then everyone is happy...but then again i'm out here and they are in there...so there may be more to it than that.
drive...this is not meant to be a slam against you...i like you (your on-line posts anyway
)...i just wanted to get my viewpoint out there.
