I see the heartbeat with BV 30.

Then I removed the power to bldg B BCM

As the BCM is powering down BV 100 switches to
show comm fail but once the BCM is completely
powered off, BV100 switches back to normal.

    Is this correct?
Ok well when the bcm that has bv-100 is off you should get an unreliable reading because the bcm it references is off.

    I believe I setup the BV as off=normal, on= comm-fail

So when it goes completely offline, the BV stays on Normal.

If I can get it to go NR, is there a way to flag the NR
    and email that out?

    Also,

I noticed whomever setup the programming performed
all logic in visio and are using BVs and AVs.
Why would one use the global BVs / AVs when you can cut down
network traffic by using the local device's logical BIs /AOs

This way all logic is in the local controller and the only thing that
is going through the global is OA-share, etc.?

I don't know maybe they were doing a global process such as determining the lowest cooling signal and reseting a chiller? There could be many reasons, now if they wrote basic code like hot water valve control or vfd pi loops then that doesn't make sense.

There is no way to monitor and dial out if your bcm-eth craps out as it is your connection to the net. You could have a dedicated vlc that monitors a point from the bcm and have a bo connect through a relay to a modem that has terminal blocks to monitor alarms but that is allot of work.

Unfortunately if the bcm goes well your sol in MOST cases.

Hi All, I have been reading through the previous postings relating to Bactalk but have not seen any topics relating to removing of staff from the alarms. Here's my predicament:

My Data Centre manager has retired, I have removed him from the SMS alarms but he but is still receiving the Voice alarms.

Can somebody please explain to me how to remove his name from the Voice alarms? I am using Envision BACtalk V1.30A

    Thanks

    Hi Ph33r and other experts,

I am new to Alerton. What programming software from Alerton I should use/purchase, if I only use Alerton field controllers with non-Alerton BACnet frontend (say, Niagara AX)? Thanks!

Hi All, I have a similar question - I have some used/removed Alerton controllers, including an 'IBEX' hardware lock. Rather than dump the lot, I was interested in learning about the programming/software routines, etc.

The Alerton product is quite rare in the UK due to the Honeywell tie in with other products, so getting any information is not easy.

    Many thanks.

You will need envision for bactalk to develop the graphics and frontend and the ebt will come with the visio macro for programming or you could use the blue screen in the ebt program. Alerton is one of the easiest programming langauges I have found. This is all BACtalk Ibex is a different beast.

    ph33r,

Would you happen to have any technical documentation on the LSI?
I am also looking for the latest ROC files for it as well.
My email is in my profile.
    Thanks.
