Airflow/ Static pressure
What equipment do you guys use for checking system airflow/ static?
If anybody is familiar with the score ratings for systems, the company I work for is getting into that pretty seriously. Need more tools....ive got my eye on the fluke 922.HVAC PRO IN THE MAKING

I use the Testo 510 for most of my measurements like
gas pressure,
static pressure throught the systenm or individual parts like filter, coil etc,
FPM to convert to cfm,
Iv read it can measure draft but i havent tried it yet but im sure it would do the job.
For draft i just started using the dwyer 460 as suggested by DavidR and weber
Very cool tool for FPM and SP high and low for $50.00

Im still up in the air about this one. I like the fluke better but the challenge is trying to catch one on the bay for less money. The testo goes for $160 but the flook looks cooler

do you guys just drill holes and shove the tube in there to get the static or do you guys actually use a pitot tube with it? I think I need more input/recommendations to sway me toward testo as ive not used any of their stuff yet and use all fluke. Also does the testo read in negative pressure for return static?HVAC PRO IN THE MAKING

A pitot tube is for velocity, static pressure tips are for static. Dwyer makes a variety I like the A303, it has a magnet on it.

A differential manometer has two ports, one is positive and one negative. Either port when left open will reference atmosphere (or"0" pressure).
