XBS uppgrade to EBI Honeywell
Have anyone oute there done this? Is it possible to move the old project into
the new EBI, if so how is it done ? How many man hours chaning this ?
I would not saddle one of my customers with EBI if I could possibly help it. In my opinion, you would do better to look at Tridium or an LNS-based system depending on your situation.
I thought you said you were upgrading?
I would stay away from EBI, or SymmetrE.
that's like upgrading from Windows 98 to Windows Me
There is no tool to directly convert an XBS database into an EBI database.

What controllers are you using? (eg. XL5000 series - if so import CARE software into EBI quickbuilder)
All graphics, will need to be redrawn (XBS used designer 3.1 - EBI uses HMI Web builder)
I am using EMS Controlers.
I know I've asked before, does Tridium have an AX CBus driver?

1. EBI/Symmetre both rely on IIS - that alone is a joke.
2. LNS synchronization is another joke.
Going from SymmetrE to AX has been like night and day - just my opinion.
It can be done

Where is this CDI tool you speak of?
Thank you very mush for this info.
I can't remember exactly -- However, if EBI can utilize LON according to spec, with or without LNS the performance and scaleability is significantly greater than Tridium can deliver on the data-side for large installations. Anyway, I'm sure that they don't want all their tier-2 Tridium guys infiltrating their Tier-1 offering.
