I would not saddle one of my customers with EBI if I could possibly help it. In my opinion, you would do better to look at Tridium or an LNS-based system depending on your situation.

I thought you said you were upgrading?

I would stay away from EBI, or SymmetrE.

There is no tool to directly convert an XBS database into an EBI database.

However, there are ways to make the job easier....
What controllers are you using? (eg. XL5000 series - if so import CARE software into EBI quickbuilder)

All graphics, will need to be redrawn (XBS used designer 3.1 - EBI uses HMI Web builder)

I know I've asked before, does Tridium have an AX CBus driver?

    What's with the EBI/Symmetre bashing?

Where have you been, under a rock?
R2 has a cbus driver, AX does not. Tridium is owned by Honeywell International (although it operates as an independent business unit), so the cbus driver's unavailability in AX has got something to do with that strange relationship.
    1. EBI/Symmetre both rely on IIS - that alone is a joke.
    2. LNS synchronization is another joke.

Going from SymmetrE to AX has been like night and day - just my opinion.

Just use the Honeywell CDI tool to convert the XBS database over to use with EBI. It converts the graphics and creates the Quick Builder database needed with EBI. Takes very little to do this.

I can't remember exactly -- However, if EBI can utilize LON according to spec, with or without LNS the performance and scaleability is significantly greater than Tridium can deliver on the data-side for large installations. Anyway, I'm sure that they don't want all their tier-2 Tridium guys infiltrating their Tier-1 offering.
