I know this probably isn't the best forum for something like this....
But I thought maybe some of you may have an idea of what I am looking for.
I am looking for a heater for my garage/workshop.
I usually tinker with my dirtbikes and do some handyman wood working in the winter time.
Its about 300 square feet.
Any recommendations on something for this kind of application?
I do have 200 AMP service so I could run a dedicated circuit breaker just for the heater itself.....
I am sure a 110 heater would be fine... even portable ones
HOT DAWG, but you'll need gas line run out to yer garage.
i don't have gas at my house.... i was looking for something more of like an electric one.
I kinda wouldn't mind having it hang from the ceiling so its out of the way... but would like to be able to have it swivel so i can direct the heat when needed
that grainger site has a ton to choose from....
I kinda like the idea of this one.... I could mount it right above my work bench
Cheap, Fast, Good. Pick two
Those electric one's look good.
FWIW. You can have gas via a propane tank too.
i've heard that those Infrared Heater's put out some descent heat.
I've never experienced one in person or anything....
But with this thing... it looks like all i would have to do is run a dedecated 208 20amp circuit and its done....
10K BTU's sounds pretty decsent....
I don't need it to be 70 degrees or anything in my work shop.. just warm enough that my fingers don't fall off
Also.. i didn't really think about using a propane tank..
I wonder how long one tank would last...
i just found this propane one at tractor supply...
its more portable... and may be more of what I am looking for

electric may not be what you are looking for, 10k=50a single phase costly to install as well as operate best to do some research there are some options to look at.

I think that being mobile will allow me to use it in other applications.. like bringing to a buddies house if we are working on something in his garage.....
I do believe that the 20lb propane tank just sits in side of it.....
here's a picture..
