Thermo cut off switch.
I have a Valor fireplace with a vent thermo cut off switch. I am wondering if anyone can tell me what the typical temperature cut off for such a fuse would be for a gas fireplace.
My guess is 150C or 300F. I'm planning to find a replacement one a solder it on.
Thanks

Call Valor with the model # and get the right parts.

I agree. It's more than just the temperature setting of the switch. Some are designed to measure temperature in the air, others the temperature of metal the switch is in contact with, and who knows what else.
It's a nuisance but getting the part from the manufacturer is the right way to go.
