Fieldpiece manometer

Are you guys out there really sold on this stuff? One of my guys was doing some boiler work and needed a manometer. He went to the closest supply house and got the one they had. It was whatever the latest model is. He used it one time, and handed it to me today, requesting a new one. Is this stuff really that good or that bad? I personally have never owner a fieldpiece instrument....until now since it went on the company credit card.

I bought the dual port add on head... reads 0.1"w.c. works well for what I use it for.
How much more accurate does NG pressure need to be adjusted to?

i am very disatisfied with all the accesorie heads. i have almost all of them and haven't found one yet to be anywhere near accurate.

the dual port manometer attachment is the biggest reason i got away from all the ones i have. it costed me some call backs last winter that's when i went back to my slack tube. and now i have the testo and everything has been great.

Well, the reality is that it wouldnt drop below about .5" with nothing connected to it. He was doing some large boiler work, and it does matter to both him and I. That tool lasted roughly twenty seven hours. He has been doing large commercial service for almost thirty years, can work on ANYTHING and has a quiet, calm demeanor. When he tells me things I listen. He's like that old EF Hutton guy or whatever. He told me it was a useless tool, and I immediately deep sixed it. It wasnt worth the trip back to the supply house. Just was curious if this was an isolated incident or what?

I have a few Fieldpiece multi meters and their dual temp meter. I like and trust both of these meters, however, I DO NOT trust the accessory heads.

I had purchased a infrared temp head and a psychrometer head and compared each to task specific devices and neither were close enough for me.

I will buy another task specific meter from Fieldpiece, but no accessory heads.

Was it a head unit? If so what setting on the stick meter was your tech on?
If your meter is set to ac it reads 0.5" with nothing attached. If in mv/dc reads 0.0 per the instructions. Seems coincidental is all not trying to say yours wasn't faulty.

Knock on wood... I've had no trouble with any of mine. I've never directly compared my readings to a tube manometer, but I have clocked the gas meter and it's been right on, and I've used it for static readings compared to blower data on new installs and the math adds up. It may not be accurate enough for really large commercial or industrial work, but for my purposes has been fine.

I personally dont care for the accs head, and I say that as a fieldpiece supporter.

The stand alones are great, and most of their meters are top of the line.

As far as the manometer goes, most likely user error...

The meter doesn't make the man. Nor does the skill make the meter any better of an instrument.
Your quite arrogant that a brand name influences your decision making on a human beings intelligence.
You should find a different field to offer employment or just do it all your self.
This career is hard enough with the constant technology and schooling required.
Your world must be very very small with the mind you show.
