    Exclamation Rheem RPKA-023JAZ

Where in the world can I buy a Copeland Scroll compressor (Mod. # ZR24KC-PFV-240) replacement? The guy who works on my unit is looking - but he's not really "johny on the spot." He suggested I start looking around for one as well. Any suggestions? This is for a Rheem RPKA-024JAZ.

What makes you think he'll install it any quicker then he looking for it.

Call a service company. They can get one and install it a lot faster then what your side job guy is.

Couple of things. There really isn't a local distributer here only dealer/installers and they want all the biz (small town stuff). The other problem is that since they are the only game in town, they can set their own prices for the install *IF* they grant you permission to purchase from them w/o them installing it. I've had them do work before, they totally ripped me off and didn't correct the problem that I called for.

Well, if you are licensed in your area, you should be able to find a distributor or wholesaler that handles Copeland. If not (cannot find one or are not licensed), I guess the folks that paid their dues get to make a profit...

Since when does a person need a license just to purchase a part? What's the big secret about selling a part? I'm not going to install it - I want to just find one and not get ripped off!

If one does not know the answer to that question, they should not be doing the work.

You just don't want a company to make any money from you.

Have your side job guy get the stuff, or are you afraid he will rip you off.
