    Need opinions

We are having 2 8.5 ton units replaced on our building. The current models are Tranes and both have cracked heat exchangers. We have been given quotes by several places. Most are replacing with new Trane units and one is using Carrier/Bryant. Is the Carrier unit as good as the Tranes? I know you pay some for the name but is it worth not looking at the Carrier units?

Pricing is similar between the 2

Check the warranties, service agency's in your area , and what you are comfortable with.

I like Carrier better than Trane myself. In my area, it is easier and less expensive to get parts from Carrier. They are easier to work on, which takes less time, so the customer pays less.
