Is the unit still controlling and communicating?

I had so far 3 E2s go into a lock-up similar to what you are describing, but the unit stopped functioning completely. I tried replacing the door and that did not solve the problem, it was a PIB board.

may or may not be the deal, but a few months ago, I encountered an issue with a few newly installed controllers that were going nutso. There is a recall out depending on the production dates. The ribbon cable that connects the Door to the main processor had a manufacturing flaw. There is a repair kit they have.

I'd certainly be on the phone with CPC tech support after the 2nd door.

I've seen a couple go in the last 6 months that are only a couple of years old. The screen went black but the controller continues working normally. As I recall one of them had a key that locked as if it was constantly held in but appeared normal on the outside.
