Help me help my contractor, please.

    Hello Pros,

I recently had a new HVAC system installed that included a Trane XL15i with a Honeywell VisionPro IAQ thermostat.

My HVAC contractor did a fantastic job with the installation and has been very responsive all around. I'm a very satisfied customer except....

My only problem is that I can't get them to set the dehumdification functions on the stat. Now I very well could be the confused one so I'm bouncing this off you all to set me straight.

From my reading on this forum, I gather that the VisionPro has two dehumdification functions up and above the effects of cooling. One is the "over-cool" function, and the other is slowing the blower. Is that correct?

If it is, the technicians aren't aware of how to wire the EIM/blower to achieve these functions. I've tried to explain what I've read here on the forum, but I do such a poor job of explaining that all I get is a blank stare and sounds of crickets chirping. Don't get me wrong, the guys are very willing to help, they just don't know what I'm talking about and I can't explain it.

I know the rules here and detailed explanations aren't allowed. Is there a source that my HVAC pros can access that I can refer them to where they can learn?

Maybe I'm confused. Does anybody have any ideas.

    Thanks in advance.

    Mike

How many times must one fix something before it is fixed?

All of the information that they need will be in the service facts that came with the air handler and also in the installation manual that came with the stat.
If people only focused on the important things in life there would be a shortage of fishing poles.
