Att’n ARP members:

With the election nearing, we have recently had a resurgence of posts with only links or copy-&-paste articles and little or no personal commentary. The ARPC has purposely been lenient about this and other matters, but it is starting to get out of hand.

The rule regarding this is as follows;

6) Spam is not allowed in the ARP Forum. Spam will be defined as follows;

-An ad containing a link or links to direct you off site for profit is considered SPAM
-Multiple postings within a short time frame by the same member with little original content or only links is considered SPAM
Why do we have this rule? Many of you will recall that at one time we had a problem with a couple of posters who would flood us with thread after thread of propaganda. These individuals would fill the page with posts containing only links or C&P articles that were usually fairly radical in nature and often not factual. Typically they wouldn’t even discuss their own threads; they where only there to stir up trouble in the forum.

We came up with the idea of requiring some substantial personal commentary as a means of instilling some responsibility and accountability for the posts we make.

We also prefer that if you make a post of this nature, you be willing to participate in the ensuing discussion. No "post and run" please.

Effective immediately, we (ARPC) will begin asking members to add personal commentary to any posts of this nature. If they don’t quickly comply, the post/thread will be either deleted or closed. Repeated offenses could result in sanctions.

Please understand that we’re only trying to maintain the environment the new ARP has where everyone is free to discuss important issues without excessive flaming or other unacceptable behavior.

The ARPC would like to take this opportunity to thank our valued members for their assistance in making ARP a successful and enjoyable forum. We appreciate your ideas, your intellect, your friendship, and your professionalism. Congress could learn something from all of us. LOL

Sincerely,

ARPC
