    Honeywell Vision Pro

Maybe one of you knows the specific reason for this.

When you install a Vision Pro programmable thermostat, there is a small plastic tag that you are supposed to pull out after installing the thermostat. I can surmise that the tag us used to separate some electrical contacts that either connect a memory battery on the board or initiate some sort of counter.

The ones I take out of service are usually toast, so there is little to investigate. Anyone know the specific reason Honeywell uses this tag? I don't see it used on other brands.

If I remember correctly, It has an internal battery for EEPROM memory. That tab insulates it.
