    2 TR compressor motor to 3 TR

    What is the disadvantages and advantages if I will to replace 2 Ton R. compressor motor to 3 Ton R. compressor motor? Any body tries? Please sent me a list of the advantages and disadvantages.

    Airconditioner Specification (defective compressor motor)
    Capacity: 2 TR
    Brand : Carrier
    Type: Ceiling Mounted
    Lenght of pipe : Approx 10 m.
    Compressor motor brand : copeland
    No. of year : 6 years

    We have no availalbe spare 2 TR compressor motor except 3 TR. We plan to replace 3 TR motor for us to utilized this spares. The said spare 3 TR is been stored for 3 years that is why we are planning to utilized the said motor.

    Are we in the right path? hope to hear comments from you.

    Are you trying to say you want to replace a two ton compressor with a three ton?

    I'd say it would work . I wouldn't say for how long. I see from your location, that getting parts would be a problem. I'd try it and see what happens. Is this for your own use, or are you charging someone to do this? If it's for you, it really wouldn't matter. If you're charging to do this, you better do it right. Sorry that I can't be of anymore help.
