Bryant Preferred Thermidistat
How many wires are required to allow the thermidistat to operate as intended by manufacturer. I assume that an outside temperature sensor is also requiredI presently have 8 available wires but not sure this is sufficient.

Should add that this will be used with Fv4 vs handler and Preferred 15 seer single stage HP.

Thanks. So essentially it is a waste of money to purchase the Bryant Preferred Thermidistat. Bummer for sure.

Why would an outside temperature sensor be required? That's new to me. Did someone tell you this? It would be sensing humidity from inside.
The thermidistat would be good to have with the FV4.

I was led to believe that an outside temperature sensor was required to have the thermidistat operate properly. I also would think that outside temp would have little to do with RH reading inside. Perhaps I misunderstood.

So perhaps 8 wires would be sufficient to take advantage of humidity control and allowing VS handler to ramp up and down?

I'm not sure if it would be or not. Hopefully someone can confirm. I didn't think an OT sensor was needed. I'd personally be surprised if more than 8 wires was needed to control a single-stage system off of a thermidistat. The VisionPRO IAQ isn't cheap, but it requires just a few wires and is a nice thermostat.

you don't need the o.d. sensors if you don't have dual fuel!
so the 8 wire conductor would work!
usually people want to see the o.d. temp with those stats!
sorry for partially misleading you!

if it is the new edge thermidistat you only need two wires. the outdoor sensor can be used to lock out aux heat

yes you can use any stat BUT the evoltuion with the FV fan coil. The FE is the fan coil the can only be operated with the evolution control
