I am primarily concerned with the heating capibility. Cooling is just gravy, but I'm sure we'll enjoy it. Here is my decision:

    Installer A;
    Payne (PH3A) is rated 13 SEER 7.7 HSPF

    Installer B;
    Goodman (GSZ13) is rated 13 SEER 8.4 HSPF

    I'm thinking the Goodman because of the higher HSPF. The guy that is selling Payne says the Goodman will only equal 7.7 HSPF because of the way it is installed into the plenum above the lennox pulse. He says if it was not a split system, I might get 8.4 HSPF, but as it stands, I won't.

    Does he speak the truth? Would this mean his Payne will only equal 7.0 HSPF with a plenum install? Just trying to make the best decision.

    Don't mind us bickering please. This happens sometime. We are free to our own oponions. And people disagree sometime.

    I had a Goodman where I lived before 7 years worry free then I moved.

    Goodman does voluntary recalls, when they discover a product has a safety problem.
    Carrier waited until they had a big class action suit against them.

    Lol, what a comical thread!

    Sounds like someone has their feelings hurt about a brand name!

    Goodman takes care of it, instead of ignoring like your brand did.

    Lots of Goodmans around. Parts easy to get.
    No special controls to buy to get full use of their equipment.
    Good warranties.

    The OP, is interested in Payne. And Payne is using Carriers old designs, and your bust on Payne.
    Makes no sense.

    I am sorry to all you goodman/payne dealers if I hurt your feeling and I will try and not bash products in future, but it is going to be hard. Weber Why is it when someone says something you don't like it is BS are we not allowed to have an educated opinion and secondly if you look at my posts you will see we don't have time like you for talking. I need 2 more people in case you are looking for job.

    This will be my last post on this subject because it is not fair to OP

    Its not about you saying something "I" dont like, its about the BS you make up.

    This is some pretty fun crap here...

    Band Bashing...calling names...wanting an education......

    I woulda thought somebody would get on the net for all that
    I fully support the military and the War on Terrorism.

    If you don't know, then don't do. If you don't know and still do, then be prepared to pay someone else a lot to undo what you did and then do it right.

    If you do know, then do. But do it right. Otherwise, you may not be doing it long.
