Plate heat exchangers
Just finished a regasket job today.
If you're ever going to do one, a can of spray paint, used before disassembley, will be your best friend.
No real secret, just kind of reminded me of a centifigual chiller, no big deal once you do one.

Hey BB.........whats the spray paint for?

Measure
We would measure the plates, prior to disassembly.
It was always amazing how much torque and man power it took to tighten these back to original measurement. They disassemble so easily!
Please explain the paint? I always welcome new ideas!

I'm guessing a horizontally sprayed line across one side of the heat exchanger
to insure all plates/components are assembled back into original position and orientation.

I have done tons of them, and wonder what the paint is for. All we ever needed to know was the stack dimension, and off we went.

Painted one corner prior to disassembly, just to make sure we kept orientation of the plates correct. Made it kind of fool proof, didn't want a problem on a Saturday.
