    Siding Question

Recently when I went to a park I saw they did their siding like board and batten but the boards where the same size, it looked pretty nice. I've already bought standard hardie siding for my house. Do you think it would work to run those boards vertically in a board and batten style only at the back and front of the house where there is an overhang from the roof? So the siding would only get indirect rain. The sides of the house would be the standard horizontal overlap style.

It's only primed so there would also be a cost of paint to help seal it.

If I remember Hardie embosses their name on the edge. I think I saw a brand at Lowe's that didn't do that but not sure.
I might contact Hardie and run it by them.
