    Odd Question

Hello, I have a 2 floor central hall colonial (apx 3100 sq ft.)with a propane forced air furnace. The heatings sysytem is fine. I have an opportunity to install a wood burning stove in the unheated basement (apx 1500 sq. ft.).

If I leave the first floor door to the basement open to let the heat come up from the basement will that screw up my heat and air circulation for the 1st and 2nd floor ?

The reason I'm asking this is to determine if the wood burning stove would be cost effective as a supplment to my main heating system.

    Thank You

If you run your systems fan, it may help to heat whole house.
