I've been noticing the same virus over and over with the yellow banner

Have you been seeing lots of the virus that changes your background screen with a yellow notice saying that your system has 2040 viruses? Further clicking reveals that you can buy a $39 software package to remove it. I have seen this 6 times already! Fortunately it's one of the most tame viruses that I have run across. Please be advised that when you think that you can't get rid of it you probably already have just the background screen needs changed. A google search will show you what files to remove but the background has to be done manually, at least in my case. Once you change your background and change it back it's gone.

No, No, I haven't gotten this at home.... I have had a couple of service calls from customers who were infected with this one. I just think that it's strange that it has become so common.

Why would you click on a message that says anything about viruses? By clicking on the message you could easily be making things worse! Purchase a good Anti-virus software like AVG or Avast, charge them for it, and tell the users to stop looking at pron

Actually, that particular virii release did a good job of propagating through the web within hours of release. It was embedded in banners on all sorts of sites that had lax security and unpatched systems. It made about 150,000 trips in the first day from what I read.

It wasn't really intended to be viscious as much as it was to flood the PC with forced adware of which, the creator problably got anywhere from $.01 to $.05 per infection.

So a good days work for such a small piece of script.
