Wifey and I needed to replace the zone dampers and panel in our house. I wish I could say they did the best job ever, but....
Wire clippings everywhere...
They either went crazy with the aluminum tape....
Used just a little
Or almost none at all...
Oh, and notice how none of the dampers are numbered??
Am I wrong to feel like they did a sloppy job?

The hearth of the matter is the control board .This is where all the Zones meet and are by # of Zones, matching with the thermostat . If the tech did all the wiring according to the zone # and Thermos , Them everything matches .
Question : is there any air leaking around from the installation of these zones? If not its seal with silver tape and probably inside with mastic .

I'm more amazed that they didn't take the 30 seconds to remove the cover on each damper and tuck the wire nuts inside.

Nope... This was done by a local "professional" outfit that is a "Trane Comfort Specialist"... although I doubt that it means much. Sadly, I am new to the area, so I could not find any references for a reliable company. It was just a matter of selecting who was available, returning phone calls, and had a decent price. If it is not against the rules, I will gladly post the company's name.
I am going to get serious crap for saying this, but this is what happens when I let my wife stay home from work to supervise these apparent idiots.
Keep the bashing coming, maybe I will have enough to go after them for a partial refund or fix the problems.

BTW... do these Honeywellzone systems need special thermostats? They told us that we needed to buy two new thermostats at $95 a pop and ditch the RiteTemp models we already had.

They will probably work. But RiteTemp is just generic t-stats usually purchased at the likes of Home Depot.
They are lower quality like Lux and BraeBurn. Stay away from BraeBurn.
$95 is CHEAP for list price of a Honeywell t-stat.

Thats what i was wondering. Why do electricians get to leave their garbage everywhere? No the job doesnt look the greatest, id say make them come back and clean up their work. But then again, what will that really look like?

I agree with being disappointed in leaving wire scraps around. No matter what anyone here says, that is unprofessional. As a person working in a professional industry, it is one of my pet peeves when so called professionals leave a mess. The customer is paying hundreds or thousands of dollars, and you leave him a mess? Sad. And you know what else? Joe Blow Homeowner will not give two ****s if your brazes are beautiful, for example. All they will think about is the mess you left. And if you don't think they tell others, well....just look at this thread and the disappointment from a homeowner. Word of mouth can make or break a business.

Exactly! To me, it is a sign of disrespect towards me and my home. I try my best to keep it clean and for me to pay them a good deal of money to do this work and leave a mess for me to clean is unacceptable.
