    Need help in S FL

I am upgrading my Homes AC from a 10 year old Rheem 5 ton and have quotes for both Trane and Carrier. Both contractors are my clients and are large here in West Palm Beach. I am looking for the EER ratings of these systems as well as any opinions.

    Trane:

    2/4TEE3C65
    2TTZ9060C
    TCONT900

    Carrier:

    24ANA1
    FE5
    SYSTXCCUIZ01-A

Both systems that you're comparing are good. You might want to consider the Carrier 24ANA7 air conditioner (or even 25HNA6 heat pump). It's still part of the Infinity system, but it has a lesser capacity in stage 1 for longer runtimes and more humidity removal. It's staging would be more comparable to that of the Trane's. There would not be a big difference in efficiency despite the units being called the "Infinity 17" and "Infinity 21." Substituting the Infinity 17 would yield 11.00 EER and 15.00 SEER. What's the approx. square footage of your home?
