    T-Stat wiring question

I have an old Lennox heat pump(15+ years old) and a Honeywell CT70A t-stat. I think it was wired incorrectly. Here's what it has:

    Orange - X
    Pinkish/White - E
    Red - W1(jumped with Y1)
    Black - O
    Green - G
    Brown & Blue (2 wires) - R
    Yellow - W2

Also there is a second set of wires (red&white) in their own conduit not connected at all.

    Is this correct?

    stat wiring

what you'll need to do is find someone who is familiar with control systems come over and check. the problem is that just because a wire is a particular color doesn't mean it is connected to the right wire at the unit. The unit will have to be checked to see what wire goes to what.

Wow....it took you 15 years to figure out you had a problem.

Maybe another 15 and it will be fixed.

I fully support the military and the War on Terrorism.

If you don't know, then don't do. If you don't know and still do, then be prepared to pay someone else a lot to undo what you did and then do it right.

If you do know, then do. But do it right. Otherwise, you may not be doing it long.
