    How to reset York compressor

I came home today to find the house at 80. The fan on the unit outside is running but the compressor is not running (based on what I remember it sounded like the last time I walked past it). Is there a way to reset the compressor? The box on the wall has a pull-out panel but no breaker or reset button. Thanks!

This could be a recipe for disaster. It likely didn't trip the breaker, or the condenser (outside) fan would not be running. There is a reason it shut off, and you could likely damage your equipment if you reset it without investigating the problem. Have a pro check it out and save yourself some money in the long run.

No problem. Sorry it's not just as easy as a reset button. =(

Best to turn it off until they arrive. You can set the fan to "on" instead of "auto" to keep the air moving without harm. This way if your compressor shut off due to high temp it will be ready to "try" again in the morning so they can diagnose it. Just a tip, may save you some labor time of them trying to coax it back on.
