    Equipment prices

W/out going into specifics, is there a time when HVAC equipment is cheaper (during the calendar year)?

When do equipment prices increase (generally)?

Is there a time when new models are brought out?

we don't sell equipment. we sell a service which sometimes includes equipment. when any business is experiencing a lull in the action (during winter months, for example) you might be able to get some businesses to be more flexible with their pricing (in order to keep their workers busy).

    ask robo.

my outside view is anytime they want, most probably due to several reasons (new technology, material cost increasing, higher transportation/delievery cost, ...)

    again, ask robo.

my view is as technology changes. recently, older models have been forced into retirement (12 seer and below) due to government regulations. this same push for efficiency has brought on some technology as well as brought into the spotlight technology that existed but was lesser known (to the public at large).

Our price books are getting updated by the supplier on an almost monthly basis. Sheet metal prices have nearly doubled over the last 18 months. Copper prices are on a call first basis before we do a major bid.

Edit out your prices, they are not allowed here. I know the thread title doesn't indicate that.
Please read the rules, Thank you.

Rom, different times of the year, manufacturers have rebates. Check to see if any of the brands that were quoted, have rebates.

My experiences with any rebate systems that I've ever seen, is that they only apply if you buy the top end equipment on the scale and purchase the extended warranties. It's their way of bringing their price down to a level to compete with mid-level competitions. Been on both sides of the coin.

I wonder if waiting to next spring would even be worth it even w/the rebates

York rebates are on different models of condensers, not just the top of the line.

The rebate requirements depend on what rebate you want.
The highest rebate, does require also getting 2 IAQ products.
Some just require a York stat, or simular.

Many people getting a top of the line system, are already getting IAQ add ons, so it doesn't cost them anything extra.
