    Question Missing Common Wire?

I am changing the previously installed thermostat. The new one requires separate common and power wires. The existing one has the RH (power, I believe) and RC (common, I believe) jumpered together and connected to power.

It has been like that for 20 years since it is the original thermostat. Will I be able to do that with the new one? Can a missing common wire be replaced with an add-a-wire kit?

    Thanks!
