    ERV simplified vs dedicated

I bought a new house, and it will be built this year. I am given an option as an upgrade to have a dedicated duct system installed for an ERV/HRV. I do not plan on getting the ERV/HRV from the builder, but from a local HVAC company. Would you recommend getting the dedicated system or just let them use the simplified installation?

    Thanks,
    Kevin

Depends on how you plan on running your HVAC system. If you plan on running your blower continuously then a simplified version of an install (connected into the ductwork of the primary system) will do an adequate job.
Use the biggest hammer you like, pounding a square peg into a round hole does not equal a proper fit.

Bear Rules: Keep our home <50% RH summer, controls mites/mold and very comfortable.
Provide 60-100 cfm of fresh air when occupied to purge indoor pollutants and keep window dry during cold weather. T-stat setup/setback +8 hrs. saves energy
Use +Merv 10 air filter. -Don't forget the "Golden Rule"
