Dunham Bush NC25-4 upgrade to Director

Anyone performed the Dunham Bush NC25-4 controller (obsolete- originally made by Danfoss) upgrade to the Dunham Dush Director controller.

I have one on order thru DB, curious on ease of conversion and will it be worth the $$$$ spent

I couldn't find a similar controller that was not oem to operate this chiller

The NC25-4 stages all 3 screw compressors, 18 cond fans, loads/unloads the compressors from its software

Air cooled chiller it is on is a ACDX170B with 3 60 hp screw compressors

    DB-danfoss upgrade

I used to be the National Service Manager for Dunham Bush and this upgrade to the new controls will make all operations smoother and this upgrade is easy just be careful of terminal markings

The upgrade is 3-4 weeks away from D/B

School starts in 3 weeks, teachers in bldng in 1 1/2 weeks , chiller does entire 800 student school

D/B says retrofit will take 30-40 hours

GB at D/B is slammed and can't expedite

I am considering temporary temp controls to at least get 2 comp running

I have had great luck with this machine until the NC25 went sour, and don't want to scramble the screws

thinking about a Hnywl T775 with fan cycling per circuit, unit has standard txv's

not sure how to load/unload the solenoids and what the timing is to fully load

probably a timer to load up to 50%-75%

not sure if I need to energize fast unload solenoid at shutdown/staging off

Am I on the right thinking track or asking for trouble

I got the supt of schools riding me hard

Install a MCS panel from Micro Controls in Fla. Talk to James Mitchell. 239-694-0089. They have retro many DB's. One of the ex-DB guys works there.

Agree, I have several D/B chillers upgraded to MCS. They all run pretty much flawlessly. Bet MCS is a 1/3 the price of the D/B crap.

hi allen...just want to ask if you're familiar with the d/b model mbt 44-1 with sp# mil-c-14370 or is there really such a model? have a friend who gave me the info and is offering to sell me a couple of units though i have yet to see them...they're belt driven by the way...any info or insight would be highly appreciated...another thing...if there is such a unit, would you happen to know where i can get a copy of its catalogue or manual?
