York Condenser fan motor noise
I have a customer with a 1/4 hp GE 850 rpm 2 speed fan motor with a bad bearing. It makes a slight clicking noise every revolution. Can these bearings be replaced (or lubed) as he doesnt really want to buy a new motor. It's fine otherwise. It is supposed to be a permanent lube design. Maybe a thrust spacer can be installed between the motor and the fan? The motor is 024-25962-000 or GE 5KCP39NFS379S

If the bearings are going out, then theres not much that can be done other than to wait till if quits.
Best to replace it now. Explain the importance of the motor and what could happen if the motor quits. Emphasize that a motor failure could damage other components.
Good luckI fully support the military and the War on Terrorism.
If you don't know, then don't do. If you don't know and still do, then be prepared to pay someone else a lot to undo what you did and then do it right.
If you do know, then do. But do it right. Otherwise, you may not be doing it long.

2 speed condenser motor?
Might be under a 10 year limited part waranty.
Have him check with his installing contractor.
