What I see
I can't elaborate, but what I've seen is in the lab of a boiler manufacturer.
Let's just say that it didn't even have a model number, yet.
How many mod-cons do you install and service in a year?
Just asking.

Barely Half a dozen some years. 10 or 12 another. (If I was better salesman, it would be more)
I have Ultras in both commercial and resi applications
Going on 7th or 8th year for the second oldest Ultra I installed.
The oldest the block was replaced because the freeze plugs started leaking.
That was on city water.
Got some on well water.
Have heard people many times, say aluminum won't hold up.
But, everybody I know personally that says that. Has never seen it himself.
Or knows anything about the history of the install.
I have a couple Pinacles in also, not vert impressed with them. Just one guy can carry them easier.

The water PH should be checked before installation.
And yearly.

Best advice, yet
I heartily agree on testing water in all boilers annually; at LEAST check the pH.

Piped up as primary secondary piping.
Ensures proper water flow through the boiler, to protect it.

I've been looking at the GB-142. I like the fact that it comes with a manifold for quicker installation. However, I'm concerned about the fact that it's wall mount only. I was hoping to replace my oil boiler which is in the middle of the room, next to the fireplace. I wanted to keep the same location to reduce the amount of plumbing to be done.
Can the GB-142 be hung on my chimney?
