any idea how many therms of NG a pilot light uses a month
do you leave the pilot shut off during summer ?? My pilot has just one orfice so one flame
A typical single flame thermocouple burns about 600-800 BTU/hr/ A millivolt valve using a thermopile uses a pilot that burns about 1,200 BTU/hr. A ventfree ODS pilot uses about 1,600 BTU/hr.
one therm=100,000 BTU/hr
hearthman
Keep the fire inside the fireplace.
I thought they didnt want it shut off ??? Something about moisture or something.
How do I know which I have a thermopile ????
Ours is a direct vent model, the directions recommended shutting off. I'll check to see if they gave a specific reason; I can't remember off the top of my head.
Is yours ventless? -- Maybe the process is different b/c moisture has nowhere to go?
mine is B-Vent Regency
