    Dis-Comfort Inn

A no cool call at the local hotel. System put in by another company (thank God!). The right side condenser had a seized blower motor. Both are Heil units, R-22. Note the commercial dryer vent located at left.

    Nice!

After a replacement motor and cap:

They don't want the vent moved.

Bet it didn't take long to trip the hi pressure limit. What are the pressures when the vent isn't exhausting? It looks to be about 5ft. away from the condenser. What's the clearance supposed to be? I don't do very much commercial

The vent is ALWAYS exhausting. Except maybe in the middle of the night. We like to see 10 feet clearance but I'd rather see the vent moved to the roof area.

These beauties have no high limit. They go BOOM!

Why not try to coax them to install a gooseneck type vent to allow the exhaust to be directed higher, also coils could be need to be cleaned and definately install hi-pressure switches!!

It might be better to move the units than the vent.

I can't believe there is enough heat coming out from that small hood that the head is 450. I bet that coil is plugged solid.

awwww you got plenty of room left on those gauges. they aren't even close to pinning. I worked at a resort and the maintenace guy decided to ad some refrigerant before they called me. I put my gauges on and they both pinned. I couldn't pull the disconnect quick enough. I pulled and weighed in new charge. It had been DOUBLE charged.)

I just love it when hotels put their condensers right under the laundry room dryer vents

I wish I could coax them...even a little something more forceful hasn't worked. They said "our regular company told us this would work fine but you guys got here quicker, we just want it fixed". That means make the "fan-thing" spin

I guess "work fine" equates to "more business when the units burn out".

There are 4 commercial dryers venting there all the time. Vent temp is about 400*. I burnt myself on the liquid line - 140*. They wouldn't let me have access to the indoor coil and filter. But it's probably not exactly clean.
