    Roto locks

    The other day on a service call I located a leak on the suction side roto lock at the comp. Today I tryed a new seal but there is still a leak on the fitting that is mounted on the copper pipe. Are these brazed in or soldered? This is a Trane cond unit 7 year old one.

    brazed ,i would replace the roto lock and make sure the compressor does not have a vibration

    Thanks I will order a new roto lock and check it over. I have never run into this befor.

    leaking on braze joint or threads???


    might just need a bigger wrench.......

    cracked solder

    I've fixed e few leaking at the solder. You gotta use 45% with flux!!

    Yes it is leaking at brazed joint. So no silfos just solder the joint in?

    I use Safety-Silv 45. Flux coated silver brazing alloy rod
