Spine Fin Coils on Trane Condensers
A friend said that Trane Spine Fin Coils look like Snowflakes.
That this "snowflake" grabs dirt, dust, hair, anything like a brush, which is very hard to clean.
He said other coil types grab dirt like a comb, and they are easier to clean because of the coil type.
One guy said to NEVER point a hose of water at Trane coils, because you will bend them accidentally.
Are Trane spine fin coils this fragile?

Trane's spine fin coil are much harder and more time consuming to clean...
however, they are no more fragile than your typical coil. If anything, they last a lot longer than a typical copper coil.I fully support the military and the War on Terrorism.
If you don't know, then don't do. If you don't know and still do, then be prepared to pay someone else a lot to undo what you did and then do it right.
If you do know, then do. But do it right. Otherwise, you may not be doing it long.

If regularly maintained (like any system should be), spine fins provide a better efficiency than a fine finned coil. Found some that had been neglected by ignorance and they were harder to clean, but kerosene and hand grenades will fix anything.

You can use a hose on them, just be reasonable with the setting and pressure

I do it with a pressure washer.
