Been An Installer For 7 Years And A Tech Plus Installer For 3 Years . No One On Here Has Ever Changed Just A Condenser Out. The Company I Work For Has Been Around For 40 Years And Does This Sort Of Thing All The Time . Maybe You Guys Are Right But Maybe You Go By The Book A Little To Much. Take The Blinders Off
Newer 13 SEER units lose capacity on older coils designed for 10 SEER systems.
Remember, just because they sd it all the time, doesn't mean its right. Or that the customer is getting what they paid for.
Experiment on your own house all you want.
great i'm not famillar with all the site rules, i'm sure i'm not supposed to tell how to due it. but just close the appropriate valve outside and pump the condenser down to test the valves. also you said you bought a 2 yr old air handler without a txv?
maybe i missed it but is your system a heat pump?
