Looks ok.
I know youo don't have much room. But cleaning that condenser coil will be tough down the road.
I've posted a lot of posts about getting this done, HOA hassles, questions.
Just got it installed today. I had no previous AC, just a 20 yr. old Carrier furnace. I figured why install an AC and keep the old furnace when it could
go bad at any time. So, I had both put in at the same time.
The only place I could place the condenser was on my entry deck.
Carrier 38HDR 2 ton. Line sets go in thru that hot water closet up to attic.
Carrier Performance 80 furnace with Honeywell electronic air cleaner.
Ventor Slimline residential thermostat.
They threw in the closet insultation for free. 5 new registers and return.
887 sq. foot condo.
3 guys did the job. One was the master, the other 2 apprentices. 6.5 hours
to complete. Pretty good job...so far (fingers crossed).
It's really not noisy. The most noise you here is coming from the return duct.
Thanks for all the replies here helping out on this project.
I plan to put some potted mini palms across the balcony railing.
The HOA gave me too much hassle about cutting line sets up thru the deck in
order to place the condenser in that utility area.

It Does Look Like It's Close To The Wall On Two Sides.
That's the beauty of the Carrier 38HDR. It only needs 6" on the condenser side and the coil side. 3 ft. in front (which it has).
It's beautiful to see.....will be incredibly hard to clean as posted above.
If It's Within Carriers Specs Then Thats Nice!!!!!!!!!!!
That "niche" is pretty damn neat tho. Carrier designed the slimline condenser when they realized a lot of ppl had city coding or HOA problems using existing
non-slim line units. Something about the property line and clearance.
Also, I was at the installers office when a guy was ordering an install of a 3 ton 38HDR because...along his house side walkway, a square condenser would have
had to stick out onto his walkway (with all the clearence and all).
I, like many others will take the extra hassle to clean the 38HDR.
Does Carrier make that out door unit in a HP or is it strickly a AC unit ?
I think it's a split system only.
