    have him look at contactor, many times a bad time delay will damage the contacts if it has been chattering.
    My thoughts as well. Especially if the larger system is using one of the earlier scroll compressors when manufacturers installed the time delay relays to prevent them from accidentally running in reverse due to a rapid off/on cycle.
