Lennox or Trane?

Everything. Some of the pros here can tell you if something needs to be changed for performance or safety reasons. Ductwork, heat pump, air handler, ductwork connecting to air handler, ductwork itself, etc. I'm not sure how easy it is to take the pictures in your attic...

Do you think it's more of an issue with how long they're taking or the quality of the work being done?

Looks good from the pictures you've posted. It's important that they address your comfort issues with the 2 rooms, though. If they can't simply add a return, ask them what they can do about it. It is possible that the variable-speed blower can help the issues. Perhaps balancing dampers will be needed to adjust airflow for comfort.

I will be asking them today what they can do. We already have the variable speed air handler and 2 stage compressor.

Doesn't look to bad from the pics, just a couple of things:

1) Not sure if it is a state or local code, but in Pinellas we are not allowed to have flex duct below the ceiling unless it is in a closet or somehow encased.

2) The unit did not look like it had any type of Hurricane strapping to hold it to the pad. Again not sure of your local codes, this may just be a coastal thing.

3) The condensing unit appears to be to close to the wall for efficient airflow. I do not install Lennox, so I am not sure what they specify is required. The inspectors usually go by what the manufacturer suggests in their installation manual, so that may not be an issue.

That is about all I could see code wise from the pics.

Personally, I ould have made the condensate drain look a bit neater, but that's just me.
