I'm oversized also, but if I left mine set back on a 98° day, it wouldn't recover till midnight.
As Baldie and others, when its going to be a high temp day, I hit hold. And I can maintain 72 when its 98 out. And 98 is above our design temp.

Sounds like I just need to leave the system on and forget about it..kind of like a store...no turning it off and on based on temp & how long I will be away from the house. thanks for the advice
